Create a consistent AI character, the same face across all your images

The Reference node memorizes a character (name, description, up to 6 images) and you summon it with @name in any prompt. The character template arrives ready to use.

The classic problem in AI creation: a different hero in every image. The Reference node solves it by memorizing your character, their face and their traits, then injecting them wherever you write @their-name in a prompt.

Reference-capable models do the heavy lifting: Seedream 5 Lite is the champion of the genre at 5 credits, Nano Banana excels at editing while preserving faces, and Kling 2.5 Turbo then animates your character in video.

The article on consistent AI characters details the full method, from reference images to a finished film; the canvas nodes guide explains every connection.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open the Character template

A Reference node, a Text node and an Image node arrive wired up. Name your character (for example @lea) and describe them in one sentence.

  2. 2

Provide 2 to 6 reference images

First generate a portrait you like, then add it to the Reference node with two or three variations of angle. The more consistent the references, the better the face holds.

  3. 3

    Summon @name in your prompts

"@lea walks through a night market in the rain": autocomplete inserts the mention, and the model receives your images and your description.

  4. 4

    Spin off scenes and videos

Change the setting, the outfit, the lighting: the face stays. Plug the image into a Video node to bring the scene to life.

Frequently asked questions

How many reference images do I need?

Two or three are often enough; six at most. Varied angles of the same face give the best results.

Which models respect the character best?

Seedream 5 Lite and Nano Banana make full use of references. An alert warns you if the selected model ignores them.

Can I have several characters in the same scene?

Yes: create several Reference nodes and mention @each-one in the prompt of the same image.
