how many images for $10, concretely
Basic's 198 minutes yield on the order of two hundred stills a month, about five cents each, but only if you spend every minute: unused time does not roll over.

Extra fast time costs $4 an hour on any tier, dearer than plan time, and needing it two months running almost always argues for moving up a tier.
When fast time runs out, you can buy more at $4 an hour, on any tier. That is the safety valve, and it is also the signal that your tier is too small.
