Prices that change by country and ByteDance models only: five Dreamina alternatives for AI images and video, free and paid, compared on what really matters.

Dreamina has a lot going for it: 225 free credits a day, ByteDance's Seedream and Seedance models, and a direct path into CapCut for editing. People look for a Dreamina alternative for narrower reasons: a paid price that changes with the country you subscribe from, a catalogue limited to one model family, or work that has outgrown short vertical clips.

We picked five tools that cover those cases: a multi-model canvas, two video generators with a daily free quota, a layout tool for visuals you publish, and a real-time image tool. None of them gives away as many free credits as Dreamina, and we say so wherever that is the deciding factor. Prices come from our comparison pages recorded in August 2026.

Why look for a Dreamina (CapCut) alternative

  • Paid plans are priced by region: the same plan shows a different amount depending on country and currency, which makes any comparison awkward.
  • The catalogue is limited to ByteDance models (Seedream, Seedance and in-house models), with no Veo, Kling or Flux to compare on the same shot.
  • A failed generation still consumes its credits.
  • Generations pile up in a library one after another: there is no way to save a chain of steps and replay it on a new project.

Each Dreamina (CapCut) alternative in detail

1. Imaginode

Best for keeping Seedance and adding other models

$7 with no subscription, or $17/mo

Imaginode carries the same model families as Dreamina, Seedream 5 Pro at 5 credits an image and Seedance from 2.0 Mini up to 2.5 for video, next to Veo 3.1, Kling V3, Flux 2 and Nano Banana. Pricing is the same grid everywhere: a credit is worth about $0.012, the price shows on the button before you click, and failed generations are refunded. The node canvas keeps your chains of steps (character references, camera direction, end frame) so you can replay them from one project to the next. What you lose next to the Dreamina and CapCut pairing is a multi-track editor. The Montage node trims and joins clips, but for detailed editing CapCut is still the right tool.

2. Kling AI

Best for video with a daily free quota

Free plan, from $10/mo

For video, Kling is the most direct alternative to Seedance inside Dreamina: 66 free credits a day, and Kling 3.0 at 1080p with audio on paid plans. Plans run from $10 to $180 a month, with up to 34% off on annual billing. Monthly credits do not roll over, and a failed attempt costs its credits, just as on Dreamina.

3. PixVerse

Best for a second free video quota

Free plan, from $10/mo

PixVerse has the other generous free tier in AI video: 90 credits to start, then 60 a day, and a V6 model that handles multi-shot generation with native audio. That is less than Dreamina's 225 daily credits, but on a different engine, which is useful for comparing two looks without paying. Free output is watermarked, and 1080p starts on the $30 a month Pro plan.

4. Canva (Magic Studio)

Best for laying out on-brand visuals

Free plan, from $18/mo

If you mostly used Dreamina for visuals to post, Canva covers the other half of the job: layout, templates, brand kit and resizing across twenty-odd formats, with an AI layer called Magic Studio. Canva Pro includes 500 AI credits a month, shared between image generation, writing, background removal and retouching. Generation stays a side feature there, with few models to choose from and limited generative video.

5. Krea AI

Best for real-time image generation and upscaling

Free plan, from $9/mo

On the image side, Krea has something Dreamina does not: real-time generation, where the picture redraws as you sketch, plus one of the best upscalers around. The free tier gives 100 units a day, then Basic costs $9 a month for 5,000 units. The cost of a generation varies by model, around 78 units on average based on the Pro plan's own figures, and video access is limited on Basic.

How to choose

It depends on what happens to the output. For vertical videos cut in CapCut, keep CapCut as your editor and only change where you generate: Kling or Imaginode for video, PixVerse for a second free quota. For still visuals you resize across formats, Canva handles the layout while Krea or Imaginode make the image.

If Dreamina's regional pricing is the issue, look for a single price grid: on Imaginode, 300 credits cost $7 with no subscription and every generation shows its price first. For product shots or social posts, the product photo and social media carousel templates start from a workflow that is already wired up.

And if 225 credits a day covers what you do, stay on Dreamina: nothing on this list gives away that much.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free Dreamina alternative?

None matches its 225 credits a day. Kling (66 a day), PixVerse (60 a day after 90 to start) and Krea (100 units a day for images) come closest, each with its own watermark or resolution limits on the free tier.

Can I use Seedream and Seedance outside Dreamina?

Yes. Seedream and Seedance are ByteDance's models, and Dreamina is one of the apps that exposes them. Imaginode offers Seedream 5 and Seedance 2.0 through 2.5 in its canvas, billed in credits at the price shown before each generation.

Which Dreamina alternative works with CapCut?

Every generator on this list exports video files CapCut can open. A common setup is to generate in Kling or Imaginode for the model choice, then edit in CapCut, which remains an excellent editor.

Why does Dreamina's price change by country?

Its price lists are regionalised: the same plan can cost very different amounts depending on country and currency. To compare it with another tool, work out the real cost of one image or one 5 second clip rather than the plan price.
