Choose filesNothing is uploaded: everything happens in your browser
iPhone photos come in HEIC, a format that Windows and many websites and apps cannot open. Converting them to JPG makes them readable everywhere, to send, post or print, at a quality the eye cannot tell from the original. You can convert dozens at once.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- 1Drop your HEIC files in the box, or click to pick them. You can add several at once.
- 2JPG is already selected. Open the settings if you want to change the quality, the size or the background.
- 3Download each file, or everything at once as a .zip. Nothing was uploaded: the conversion happened on your device.
The formats
HEIC
The iPhone's photo format since 2017. It keeps the same quality as a JPG at about half the size. Windows and many websites and apps cannot read it without an add-on, hence the need to convert it before sharing or printing.
JPG
The universal photo format. It compresses with loss, which gives light files that open everywhere: browsers, phones, software, printers. It has no transparency, and each new save loses a little quality.
Your files stay with you
The conversion runs in your browser, with your device's decoders. No file is uploaded, no copy is kept, and nobody but you sees your photos or videos. You can check it in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools: none of your files goes out.
Frequently asked questions
Is the photo information kept?
The image is copied the right way up, but the metadata (date, camera, GPS location) is not copied into the JPG. That is rather a plus for sharing: your address does not travel with the photo.
What about Live Photos?
The moving part of a Live Photo is a separate short video. The JPG keeps the still image; for the animation, export the Live Photo as a video from the iPhone, then convert it to MP4 or GIF here.
Is the converter really free?
Yes, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files. The conversion runs on your device and costs us nothing, so there is nothing to charge you for.
Are my files sent anywhere?
No. They are read and converted in your browser, then saved straight to your device. No server receives them.
Is there a maximum size?
The limit is your device's memory. Photos and audio files go through without trouble; for a video of several gigabytes, a computer does better than a phone.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on iPhone and Android, in Safari, Chrome or Firefox. For video, an up-to-date browser is needed: it provides the decoders being used.
