It does exactly the same things, creating an image from text or editing the ones you give it, with the same formats, but in about ten seconds instead of twenty to thirty, and for less than half the price. In our tests on October 15, 2026, it also wrote a shop sign requested in the prompt without a spelling mistake.
It accepts up to five input images, like the full version, and renders at around one megapixel in the format you choose, from square to 16:9.
When to choose it
Flash is the exploration tool: ten variations of a poster to find the right layout, several moods for the same set, a first editing pass to check that the instruction is understood. Once you have the image, you can redo it on MAI-Image 2.6 with the same prompt for more finesse, or keep it as is if it does the job.
For a working image that will never leave the canvas, a mood board or a reference to hand to a video model, the difference with the full version rarely shows, and the price matters more.
