Real workflow: two French garage sale posters for Sunday 14 June on the market square, one white with a lamp, a bicycle and toys in flat colours, the other on cream paper with a chair, a gramophone and vinyl records.

A garage sale fills up thanks to posters taped all over the neighbourhood a few weeks before, and most of them are knocked together at the last minute in a word processor. This workflow gives you two printable A4 posters: a cheerful red and navy one that stands out from a distance, and a vintage flea market one for a village sale.

The hard part is the text. A poster with the wrong date or a misspelled street does more harm than no poster at all. The prompt gives the four lines in quotes and forbids adding any. Sunburst writes them letter for letter, punctuation included, for three credits a poster.

For a street party, see the block party poster; for a club fundraiser, the bingo night poster. Both posters cost six credits.

Actual renders from the demo

These are the files of the workflow above, exactly as the models produced them, unretouched. The starting point is shown when there is one.

Render

Who it is for

Village committees, PTAs, councils, people clearing out a house, residents' associations.

Which files to provide

The four lines to write in quotes: heading, date and times, place, one practical line, plus the style you want.

How it works

  1. 1

    Replace the four lines

The heading, the day and times, the place, one practical line at the bottom: refreshments, free entry, stall bookings. Each one in quotes.

  2. 2

    Keep it short

A poster gets three seconds of attention. If you want the pitch price on it, make it the bottom line, not a paragraph.

  3. 3

    Check the date

Day, number and month: make sure they match on the calendar. The model copies what you write; it doesn't check that the 14th is a Sunday.

  4. 4

    Print and put up

A4 for shop windows and notice boards, A3 for the main road after a pass through the Enhance node.

Variations and use cases

The same canvas, tuned for different needs: each variation is two or three lines of prompt away.

The village fete committee

The committee runs its yearly sale on the church square. The volunteer in charge of publicity makes the poster the evening of the meeting and drops copies at the bakery and the town hall the next morning.

The school PTA

The school sale pays for the class trip. The bright version with toys speaks to families, and the bottom line announces the refreshment stall run by parents.

The moving sale

A couple is moving and clearing the house on a Saturday. A "MOVING SALE" poster with the street name, taped at the corners, brings in the neighbours without an online listing.

The summer flea market

A small town runs its summer flea market with dealers and locals. The vintage version, gramophone and old furniture, tells people straight away what kind of finds to expect.

The kids' clothes swap

A neighbourhood group organises a children's clothing swap before school starts. Same prompt, different heading, and little jumpers and trainers instead of the bicycle.

The apartment block sale

The residents' committee sets up a sale in the courtyard. The poster goes up in the lobby and the lift, with the times and a reminder that only residents can sell.

Common mistakes

Leaving out the exact place

"Garage sale Sunday" with no street or square, and visitors drive around in circles. The place gets its own line, in large type, right under the date.

A date that doesn't add up

Sunday 14 June one year, a Monday the next. The model writes what you give it: check the weekday on the calendar before you render.

Putting everything on it

Pitch fees, rules, a map, sponsors: the poster becomes unreadable. Keep it for visitors, and put the rest on the sellers' booking form.

Not proofreading before printing

Sunburst gets the text right nearly every time, but a hundred posters with a typo get noticed all over town. Read every line on the image first.

Frequently asked questions

Is the text spelled right?

In the demo, yes: the heading, the date, the place and the refreshments line are exact on both posters, accents included.

Can I add a contact for sellers?

Yes: add a line in quotes, such as "Book a pitch: 07700 900123", and check every digit on the image.

Does it work for a toy swap or a jumble sale?

Yes: change the heading and the illustrations, toys and kids' clothes, books, clothing. The prompt structure stays the same.

How much do the two posters cost?

Six credits, three per poster on GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst at medium quality. A third version, black and white for the photocopier for instance, costs three more.

Why GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst?

Because it spells correctly on a light background, punctuation included, and it's the cheapest model in the catalogue. For a poster you redo every year, that's the sensible choice.

What size for printing?

The render comes out at 2:3, 1024 x 1536 pixels, close to A4. Print on A4 with thin margins; for A3, run it through the Enhance node first.

Can I add the club or council logo?

Not in this workflow, which starts from a blank page. Add the logo afterwards in your layout software, in a corner left free.

Do I need a permit?

It depends on where you live: some councils want a sale on public land declared or licensed. The poster doesn't replace that, so check with your local authority.
